Use Sponsorblock and enable skipping of “tangents/jokes” (previously called “filler”). It’s off by default but I find it to be a great category to shorten video length without removing any important content.
And contribute segments where they aren’t already marked, so that others can be saved from these too.
When I enabled this niche aggressive category I wanted niche, aggressive segments. But on videos that I liked? This has gone too far. This category is censoring jokes, it is suppressing creative voices. I can’t believe there are people out there, making this segments on these works of art. It’s a comedy channel for God’s sake! I get that this category is for jokes but these jokes are FUNNY! These submitters should be banned, as they clearly don’t understand these guidelines. Oh they removed the jokes from LTT? I just have it on “show in seekbar” and not auto or even manual skip. Mainly because I wanna see what people mean by filler content.
Yeah, that’s the reasonable thing to do. Most uses of tangents are things I do want to see, but it’s still helpful to enable the category in case something comes up in the video I don’t care about.

Kinda related, about a week ago I finished all these video essays from a particular channel that covers obscure late 90s/early 2000s point and click adventure and survival horror games and started thinking about a game called “D” and started looking for similar videos on that game without being able to find much.
Yesterday, not really looking for anything in particular I see an hour long video about “D” popup in my front page… And it was the freaking GameGrumps. Like, no hate or anything cuz I do like the guys, but cmon. I wanted an essay going into detail about the history of the game (because it has a pretty gnarly origin story) and the universe seemed to have heard me asking, but monkey pawed my ass. 😞
