That’s specifically narcissism. Don’t lump borderline in with that shit, life is already a personal hell for folks with BPD and they don’t need people getting them confused with narcissists.
Also, narcissistic is an adjective. NPD is a personality disorder, but someone can have narcissistic traits without it being a fullblown personality disorder. Ask any psychologist.
Fuck narcissists by the way. I’m not defending them, just correcting some misinformation.
There’s an overlap on that Venn diagram that includes false realities, gaslighting, “it’s not my fault”, and a need for a nemesis (to blame things on). There’s a reason they both exist under cluster B.
The difference is BPD ultimately turns inward and damages themselves through suicide or self harm. Sometimes bordering on outright mutilation of self. Whereas the narcissist never does. It forever remains other people’s fault, for them.
Can’t make a mistake so everything they do is part of their power trip
This is the mandate when a Cluster B Persobslity disorder is in charge.
-Nothing is ever their fault.
-They exist in an alternative reality
-They gaslight you into oblivion if you deny their alternative reality.
-They must have a nemesis to rail against. If there’s no one current, they’ll revert back to whoever that nemesis was a decade ago.
-They’re the most important person in the room, always. Or on the street. Wherever they are.
People throw around disorders, (OCD, narcissist) like they’re mere adjectives.
The above is full bore what a narcissiatic (cluster B) personality disorder actually is. Of course this admin acts like this.
Lack of reading glasses. Getting old is great fun.
